Summering at Pacheco Marsh: Saturday, June 13
Summer changes everything at Pacheco Marsh. Join us for an easy 2.5-mile walk to see how heat and dry season transform this wetland — what’s blooming, what’s receding, and which birds are making themselves at home a full year after the marsh opened to the public.
The walk is flat and unhurried, with plenty of stops to look closely at plants and scan the water’s edge for wildlife. Come curious.
When: Saturday, June 13, 8am-11am
Where: Meet at Pacheco Marsh, 2501 Waterfront Rd, Martinez, CA 94553
What to bring/wear: Comfortable clothing and shoes, hat, water, sunscreen.
Come prepared: No shade, no running water, no dogs, no registration needed. Restrooms available at the main parking lot.
Map the Wildflowers at Fernandez Ranch: Saturday, July 11
Join us for a hilly 4.5-mile hike through Fernandez Ranch to catalog native summer wildflowers — identifying what’s blooming, noting where, and building a list that will directly inform future seed sourcing and restoration work. It’s citizen science meets community hike, with plenty of room for curiosity along the way.
When: Saturday, July 11, 8am – 11am
Where: Fernandez Ranch, 1081 Christie Rd, Martinez, CA 94553
What to bring/wear: Refillable water bottle, sturdy hiking shoes, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, long sleeves). Dogs welcome on leash. Restrooms at main parking lot. No registration needed.
