John Muir Land Trust will be officially announcing its next campaign to acquire and permanently protect Almond Ranch, a stunning 281-acre property next to Mount Wanda in Martinez. The property makes critical connections for both the Bay Area Ridge Trail and the Carquinez Strait Scenic Loop Trail. JMLT must raise $4 million by December, 2019, and East Bay Regional Park District has already pledged $1 million. Saving Almond Ranch has been a goal of conservationists for decades. This is a key piece of open space of regional significance.
