Plant Life Hike — Postponed

Come learn about local flora and land conservation, free and fun for all! Join California State Botanist, Dr. Dean Kelch, John Muir Land Trust's Open Space Ranger, Glen Lewis and Contra Costa County Resource Conservation District. The hike will be guided up old, ranch trails through the beautiful oak spotted rolling hills of JMLT’s Fernandez Ranch. This is a medium level hike. The Whipsnake/Windmill loop is 2.82 miles round trip, 410ft elevation gain. RSVP here and reach out to with any questions.

Earth Day Pint Night — Postponed

Join John Muir Land Trust at Del Cielo Brewery on Earth Day for a locally brewed pint, learn about the plans to open Almond Ranch, and the restoration of Pacheco Marsh. A portion of proceeds from all beer sold during the event will be donated to JMLT. RSVP here.

Enjoy a festive day at the National Park! There’s something for everyone. Join as we celebrate the addition of West Hills Farm to the John Muir National Historic Site and the much-anticipated public opening of beautiful Almond Ranch. Painted Rock Trail Project — Postponed

Volunteers for Outdoor California (VOCal) is one of the premier trail construction volunteer organizations in California. In May 2020, VOCal will be building a trail with John Muir Land Trust (JMLT) at Painted Rock in Moraga and recruiting volunteers to help. A trail building weekend with VOCal involves camping under the stars, enjoying prepared meals, working hard with a team and a lasting environmental contribution. Trail building and camp support roles will be available. Tools will be provided. Sign up here.
