On Sunday, May 1 enjoy the beautiful parks and natural lands near you. John Muir Land Trust is joining organizations across the state in this annual event to host fun outdoor events for you and your family to enjoy.
Take a guided tour in Spanish and English of stunning Fernandez Ranch near Hercules—using your smartphone! The ranch has a fascinating history as part of the rich Spanish ranching legacy of the East Bay, and as ancient home to native peoples.
JMLT’s POINT mobile app is the easy way to connect with the outdoors. Download it to your smartphone and you have a personal tour guide in your pocket! POINT brings Fernandez Ranch to life. As your family strolls along selected routes you’ll be notified automatically by GPS when key points of interest have special stories. Each tour covers three miles of beautiful terrain and they are available in a variety of languages, including Spanish.
From 2pm to 4pm you can meet with Arthur Bart-Williams, co-founder of Canogle, the developer of POINT, and with a special interpretive guide who will discuss the rich cultural history of Fernandez Ranch.
