Stargazing 2016

Another stellar event!

The stars were aligned for another stellar Stargazing event Wednesday, August 17th, 2016 at Fernandez Ranch, a permanently protected 702-acre natural area near Hercules.

Each year, John Muir Land Trust hosts this popular event in partnership with the Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society. Beginning with an optional walking tour, and followed by an ice cream social sponsored by our friends from Phillips 66, then a lively interactive talk, the highlight of the evening comes when the Astronomical Society shares views through their phenomenal telescopes, and expertise of the night sky!

Stargazers saw the nearly full moon rising over the hills, Saturn and its ring system, and the Andromeda Galaxy!

If you would like to volunteer at next year’s Stargazing, please email info@jmlt.org. Stay tuned for Stargazing 2017! We will announce the date soon. Please keep in touch by subscribing to our eNewsletter.
