Karen joins JMLT as a 15-year resident of Walnut Creek and honorary Californian. She grew up among the bayous of south Louisiana, and spent many years in San Francisco and Washington, D.C. Despite loving city life, she has grown to adore the rolling hills and ridges of the East Bay, which she explores with friends, her two teenage sons and their German Shepherd Axel. Karen brings years of experience as a journalist, political professional and fundraiser. Karen oversees JMLT’s high-impact donor program -- providing leadership, guiding strategy, and cultivating relationships with individuals who support our ambitious campaigns of land acquisition, conservation and stewardship. She holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. When not hiking and working, Karen can be found voraciously consuming all things sci-fi, watching too much TV, tweeting, podcasting about pop culture and scaling indoor rock walls around the Bay Area.
