Visiting Carr Ranch

We’re hard at work on a plan for introducing Carr Ranch to the public. During the transition it remains a working cattle ranch, and is not open for visitors yet. You can sign up for E-news here and receive the latest updates.

EBMUD’s Rocky Ridge Trail is open to the public and offers superb views of Carr Ranch. You’ll need an EBMUB trail use permit. Purchase a permit and get a trail map here.

Moraga’s Rancho Laguna Park, 2101 Camino Pablo, (info) offers parking and easy access to the Rocky Ridge Trail. The trail begins at the back of the park just past the play area. Sign in with your trail use permit. On the trail you’ll be walking near and along the southwest corner of the property. After a half hour or so, depending on your pace, you’ll come to the top of a hill with excellent views of Carr Ranch. This is marked View Point on our map (37.806 N, -122.097 E).

The Rocky Ridge trail continues alongside Carr Ranch, with more stunning views, and along terrain that will give you a very good idea of what hiking Carr Ranch will be like when open to the public.

Soon, these pristine 604 acres will be open to hikers, runners, dog walkers and all nature lovers.
